As I heard from preachers about mustard seed and why Jesus pick the mustard seed for example? The mustard seed it take about 40 years just to grow the roots in the ground then after that it can grow very fast as a tree. That is why Jesus said you must have faith as little as mustard seed and what He meant was that to have deep root in faith and comes winning the war against devil .God bless you all

Depending on the size and structure of the seed it may take 3 to 21 days for sprouting for example mung bean seeds sprout with in 3 days whereas date palm seeds take 21 days to sprout. ==== Several things can also determine how fast seeds can sprout. Quality of the medium (starting soil), how deep the seeds were planted (too deep and they may not have enough energy to reach the surface and too shallow may not give them a strong enough root system), warmth, moisture, light and if the seeds were planted inside or outside can all have an effect on determining how fast a seed will sprout. I used to grow Atlantic Giant Pumpkins and I could make them sprout in less than 7 days with the right technique.

Kentucky coffee tree takes a long time to germinate because of the thick seed head. If you take a file, score the seed head and it will sprout faster. This is called scarification.
The saguaro cactus [Carnegiea gigantea] may sprout from seed within 2-4 weeks. But it'll take 40+ years for the cactus to sprout branches and flowers. During the first four decades of its life, it concentrates energizing photosynthetic products into such life supporting processes as growth and water intake.
Nastursiums are cool weather loving flowers that can take up to 2 weeks to sprout or germinate after planting about 1/2 inch deep. If the seeds are soaked for 24 hours in warm water, germination might be in a few days rather than weeks.
