pretty simple as long as u remember how it all comes apart. label all your bolts, push rods, roller rockers, and valves and space anywhere measuser with a feeler gage. make marks on ur timing chain and sprockes. use new gaskets no matter on how new the old ones look. if u have to replace a piston replaces them all or ur engine will wear differant. if it is carb engine it will take a good weekend if u don't no what your doin if its tbi just a little longer not to much but if its a efi it sucks don't cut any wires and make sure you injectors are good.
yes you can rebuild a knocking motor. its best to rebuild it from block up and it may get pricy but its worth it
yes
hopefully just a carburetor adjustment
No. The 350, is a 5.7.
get a book
no.
motor mounts are different, exhaust won't line up,
With proper use and maintenance and repair I have seen 300,000 with no rebuild needed. In the f-350 ford the truck will not last this long
About $1700.
350
yes.
The 305 & 350 are basically the same engine. The 305 just has a smaller bore(3.736 vs. 4.000), not quite the power or torque, but durability should be almost identical. It is more costy to rebuild a 305 than a 350 due to the popularity of the 350. If power is not an issue then go for the 305 if you can get one cheaper. If you want more power, then a 350 is the way to go.
