How has digital music change music industry?

Answer:
Digital music has changed the industry for better AND for worse!

For worse, we listen to CD's which have been "engineered" to sound much better than live performances...editing out wrong notes, changing dynamics, tempo, etc. The result may be pleasing, but is certainly not realistic. It's a world of "plastic music".

Today's artists realize that CD's are a poor source of income, since most people download their music at their computers. The only sure means of "financial survival" is live performance, usually involving lengthy tours. Yes, we are returning to the sincerity of LIVE PERFORMANCE!

Therefore music agents and managers prefer their top talents to sustain a career of live performance, rather than digital recording.
