In terms of size, they have gotten much smaller. The first computer filled an entire room!

In terms of performance, the three major components have increased dramatically (processor spped, RAM size and Hard Drive size). And they continue to increase. The products in development today, which will be available in coming years, are dramatically better than what is available today.

Also, the computer programs and operating systems have evolved to enhance ease of use.
