The highest temperature a butane lighter reaches is the "flash point", which is when the spark occurs to begin the flame.
The flash point can reach temperatures of up to 420oC which is about 788oF.
hot enough for you to not swipe your finger across the flame like you would with a regular Zippo lighter!
Fire One butane lighter reports:
"Burns with clean hot flame at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit"
About 70 - 80 watts typically, most of it in heat.
What most people call "ammonia" is actually a solution of what chemists call ammonia in water. If you mix household ammonia with lighter fluid, they won't mix. Lighter fluid is probably (mostly) butane, which is not exactly miscible with water. I'm not actually positive whether it's miscible with "real" ammonia or not in the liquid state, but I doubt it; ammonia is polar and butane is not.
A given sample of butane might contain traces of benzene, but pure butane does not.
Butane burns at no less than 450 Celsius. But it might actually be higher.See related link.the hotter something is the more the molecules in it bounce around. This bouncing around makes it so that molecules are more spread out in hotter air then colder air so the hotter air is less dense and the less dense air rises above the colder more dense air.Answer:Assuming good mixing and proper flow conditions a butane/air flame (like a lighter) can reach temperature of 1,977o C
Butane, here is a simple way to remember Monkeys Eat Peanut Butter. Methane is the smallest, Ethane, then Propane and Butane is highest out of those four then it continues on.
around 21,000 average 100 watt bulb is around 1400 lumens. That's 14 lumens per watt. 14X1,500 = 21,000
The variables for the formula are incomplete. You would need to know how many grams of butane are put out by the lighter. The molecular weight of butane is 58.12 g/mol, which is also needed to complete the formula.
Butane.
Butane.

Butane

Yes.

No. Lighter fluid is usually butane, a flammable substance known as a hydrocarbon with chemical formula C4H10. A spark ignites the butane, allowing the lighter to function.
you can fill a butane lighter with lot's of things but you only want to use butane or (only if you have an adjustable lighter) propane. some of my freinds tried Ethane and they could either get it to burn a lighter up or it wouldn't light so it's hard to balance if you use that. I PLAY WITH FIRE :)
The liquid butane in a lighter was compressed, and is under pressure. At normal temperatures, if released from the lighter it will change back to a gas. Extremely rapid evaporation.
There are a number of different steps to take when refilling a Butane lighter. First, shake the Butane gas can, then hold the lighter and the gas bottle upside down. After this, one should place the stem of the refill can into the bottom of the lighter and allow approximately 10 seconds for it to fill up with gas.
