Columbia celebrates Easter with processions, retreats, Masses and other events from Monday through Thursday. The most famous celebrations take place in Popayan and Mompox. The Last Supper is reenacted on Thursday. On Good Friday, there are masses and solemn rites, along with the crucifixion.
Domingo de Resurrección, (Easter Sunday) is a joyous day with masses, eucharistic rites and processions.

Some of them allow us to take off of school from time to time, but usually the days that we celebrate are important once we get off of school (usually we learn about why the holiday is important), and people celebrate at work sometimes as well.
