Better is always a subjective term. The two styles are different and potentially for different purposes. Krav Maga is a reality based self-defense system with no rules that uses gross motor skills that can be learned quickly and retained. There are certain basic techniques that build on each other to increase certain skills. Kung Fu uses elegant movements and requires more training to become efficient.

What is special about Krav Maga that no other martial art has?

Krav Maga is rather new as a martial art which many claim is more martial than art. It was started by Imi Lichtenfeld in Israel in the 1940's. Krav Maga is a reality based system of self-defense that relies more on gross muscle movements rather than fine motor skills. Since it originated in the Israel Defense Forces it had to work for both men and women and against all types of opponents. It had to be easy to learn and easy to retain the skills because of limited training time. Most martial arts are involved in competition where there are rules and Krav Maga is more oriented for self-defense with no rules. Mottos like Get home safe tell the story. Recently I went to a presentation on active shooters given by a SWAT team lead. He said that if you find yourself in such a situation you have to decide whether to take action or not should the opportunity present itself. He said if you did decide that you had to take action that it must be aggressive, violent and effective. That describes Krav Maga in such a situation. You can get the U.S. history of Krav Maga from Krav Maga Worldwide website.

Why is Krav Maga the best?

Krav Maga has appeal to many because it is based on simple easy to learn and easy to retain skills. It is not geared to competitions because there are no rules. The intent is to get home safe by whatever means necessary. Reaction to a violent attack builds upon ones natural reactions to the threat using gross rather than fine motor skills to fend off the attack and immediately counterattack. As a practitioner of Krav Maga, I think it is the best self-defense system for me. Depending on what you are looking for, it may or may not be the best for you.

Should i learn judo or jujitsu. i am a male 34 year only slightly fit?

You need to ask yourself what your goals are and match the style to those goals. There are competition-based martial arts and others that are geared to street-based, reality self-defense. In all styles I would imagine you would get fit, but there are some more than others that do this. Also it is not only the style, but the school and the instructors. Capabilities vary widely depending on individual instructors. By way of disclaimer, I do Krav Maga and am over 60 and get in better shape every day. I train in Krav Maga at least 4 hours per week.

How can martial art affect society?

Japan and Korea are relatively crime-free because martial arts training is so common; teachings of restraint, discipline, self control, etc, etc, etc, carry over to make "better citizens." Not only that, the discpline and mental toughness developed in martial arts training transfer over academically; Japan and Korea outperform other industrialized countries because of the discipline of martial arts. In Israel, where Krav Maga is basically "P.E." the training of Krav Maga may in fact be a contributor to making Israel the "highest per capita college degree earning country in the world," however, that may have more to do with general Jewish culture than martial arts.

Why isn't Jesus a Kung Fu master?

Jesus is much greater and better than a kung fu master. He is the King of all kings and the saviour of the world.

Which is better jujitsu or Kung Fu?

This is a subjective question with no real answer.

What is the most successful type of self-defense?

It would of course depend on what you mean by "successful", and from whose perspective. I can't answer your question because of these and other reasons, but perhaps I can help you focus on what you are interested in. If for example you had a concealed carry permit and were carrying a gun when someone tried to rob you and you shot him, that might be considered great self-defense. On the other hand it you drew your gun and the robber took it away and shot you, that wouldn't be great self-defense. Sometimes being well trained in any martial art might give you an edge against an assailant who is untrained. However, if the assailant is well trained and bigger that you, you would probably loose in a confrontation. There have been a number of TV shows where various forms of self-defense were examined. The problem always is, can a particular martial art give you any proof that their form is better than others. By my screen name you may be able to figure out I am a practitioner of Krav Maga. If I went up against a black belt in Kung Fu would I win? The answer is who knows. The claim of Krav Maga is that it is relatively easy to learn, the knowledge can be retained and is useful against a wide spectrum of attacks and attackers. There are no rules in Krav Maga except to get home safe. A karate master may be able to throw a spinning back kick to my head while I am kicking him in the groin or poking my finger in his eye. I suggest you see what is available in your town in terms of different styles. Tell each what your goals are and see what their solution is. Just today I trained with a gentleman who said he came to train in Krav Maga because he wanted to be stressed in a controlled environment and see if he could master self-defense. He is very uncoordinated; and it would take a long time for him to learn a spinning back kick, but it didn't take him long to be able to do damage with a groin kick. He'll never be a great fighter, but he will be able to defend hinself in ways he never could before. Is that successful -- you be the judge.

Is Kung Fu Panda 1 better than Kung Fu Panda 2?

That is up to you to decide. Some people may favor the original over the second, while others may favor the second over the first.

How effective is krav maga?

It has to be, otherwise if you're injured or crippled how can you use it? Krav Maga training does not believe in sparring, only in putting students in a hopeless situation. Training drills involve things like the instructor starting the exercise with you in a hopeless chokehold. A chokehold that is, where three other men are restraining your arms and legs and then they tell you "alright, try to get out." The purpose of that is to more or less mimick a "street fighting" situation, as on the streets sometimes things get "hopeless." If the instructors know what they are doing and you follow their guidance, it is no more dangerous than karate, jeet kune do, or any of the other fighting arts.
