How is disability defined in the American Disability Act?

Answer:
The definition of disability is vastly expanded in the new amendments added to the original ADA. I have attached a link from Counterpoint, a legal journal, that summarizes the new changes and gives an overview of the implications to employers. The new law removes many of the legal barriers that would eliminate a person from the protected class and allows more people to qualify under its' protection. http://www.padefense.org/documents/Counterpoint_JULY-09.pdf
