Do you like bread? Do you like cakes? Or penicillin? Certain fungii are of important biological value for example yeast, a fungii used in bakery to give bread its puffy shape or cake to go from a thin layer to a puffy structure. Penicillium notatum is the fungii responsible for the discovery of penicillin, the boost for antibiotics... so I gues they are useful.
