The antarctic has seen ice growth over the past several years. The Arctic has seen a 4% loss in ice that appears to be decreasing.

Overall, an average change of 0.2 to 0.6 has been seen since the low temps of the last mini ice age (1850). If we go back further, to the 1400's, we see far less change.
