If you have ever heard of the expression, "Hot air rises and cold air sinks." than the principle is the same. When you heat up water, the particles begin to move faster and farther apart causing the same volume of liquid to become lighter.

Hot water isn't heavier than cool water. In most substances the warmer is becomes the faster the molecules (or atoms) move and the less dense the substance becomes as it expands to occupy more volume with the same mass.

Water is unique in that as it cools from room temperature liquid water becomes increasingly dense, just like other substances. But at approximately 4 °C, water reaches its maximum density, thus in a pond the water at 4 °C will sink to the bottom with the cooler water above thus preventing a pond or lake from freezing solid. This unusual negative thermal expansion is attributed to strong, orientation-dependent, intermolecular interactions

It isn't. Though both hot and cold water are the same 'weight', hot water is less dense than cold water, as the molecules within it have more energy, and therefore move faster.

This can be shown by pouring coloured hot water gently into a bowl of cold water. The hot water will rise to the top, and the cold water will sink.

In cold water, the molecules are placed close to each other. As the temperature of water increases, the molecules move away from each other due to weakening of the Van der Waal's forces holding them together. Hence, cold water is denser than warm water.

It's not..Cold is more dense than warm because its molecules are closer together.

Because warm water is less dense than cold water.

How does hot and cold water separate?

that happens because cold water is heavier than hot water.

Why is hot water havier then could water?

You are wrong ! - Cold water is heavier ( denser ) than hot water.

What happens when hot water meets cold water?

cold water is much heavier than hot water . the water becomes warm

Why hot water is heavier than cold water?

Given an identical volume of both to begin with (say, one gallon hot water, and one gallon cold water) they will be identical in weight. However, cold water is more dense than hot water.

What is heavier hot or cold water?

lil Wayne

Which water is heavies - hot or cold?

Hot water is less dense than cold water. So if you have equal volumes of both, then the cold one is heavier than the hot one.* That's why we build stoves in such a way as to heat the bottom of the pot ...that's where the colder liquid is.

Is Warm air heavier or cold air?

cold air is heavier than the warm air warm air has low water so it is hot and low heavy but cold air has a lot of water so it cold and heavy

Is hot air liter or heavier than cold air?

Hot air rises, so is lighter than cold air.

What is the heavier molecule hot or cold?

Hot is the heavier molecule.

Does the temperature change the density of water?

Yes. Cold water is slightly heavier than hot water. (That's why stoves are built to heat the bottom of the pot, not the top.)

Which is heavier cold or hot water?

Water is made of tiny pieces called molecules. Heat makes molecules excited. They jump around and move quickly! They need space to do this. Cold, on the other hand, makes molecules slow down and it can make them nearly stop. They don't need as much room to move around and the space between them shrinks! It would seem that cold water would have to be denser than warm water.
