It is not a decomposer.

It does adsorb nutrients and chemicals from air and water. It has no mechanism for decomposition itself, but does help maintain a more ideal environment for fungi, bacteria and other decomposers to do their work.

Moss is not a decomposer. I think you may be conflating it with the fungus and bacteria (and other microorganisms) doing the decomposing of the dead plants and animals.

mose is both a decomposer and producer. it decomposes things like fallen trees.
