How is romeo supposed to act in act 3 scene 1?

Answer:
Different directors may approach this differently, but the situation is that Romeo is at this stage just coming from his wedding. He is upbeat, and in love with the world. He would not for anything try to hurt Tybalt, who is now his cousin by marriage. He is so high on life that Mercutio's death brings him down with a crash and causes him to react instinctively.
