How is sex determined?

Answer:

Answer

If the zygote that wins the race to the egg has a "Y" chromosome in it's back pocket you have made a boy.
The last part is right, but a zygote is a fertilized egg...
Human's have 46 chromosomes. The female egg (X) and the male sperm (X or Y) have 23 each so that when they meet they make 46. The sperm X or Y have to get to the egg. If the sperm is that reaches the egg first is X you will have XX which is a girl, and if the sperm that gets there first is Y then you have XY which is a boy. Therefore the father's sperm determines the sex of the baby.

the fast way is that X Y = dad
y/ xy yy
x/ xx xy
witch miens xx = girl xy or yx = boy yy =boy
