Acually smoking could cause death and leave all your loved ones behind. People say that smoking could also cause bad breath, yellow teeth, cancer, and like I said before DEATH!

Smoking is known to cause chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), Emphysema, lung cancer, hardening of the arteries, esophageal cancer and esophageal varices (rupture of veins in the throat), among other diseases. Not all smokers develop all of these diseases, but the chances of a chronic smoker dying of one or more of them are better than 50%.

Smoking triples the risk of dying from heart disease among middle-aged men and women its also can cause asthma as well as harm children's lungs. It can also cause lung cancer, emphysema, and a host of other illnesses.

Usually, these illnesses show up in people who are middle-aged or old and have been smoking for many years. It's hard to convince a kid or a teenager to worry about something that's many years away, but keep in mind that smoking can be addictive. If a kid or a teenager starts smoking he may not be able to stop before he's at risk for these diseases!

The American Heart Association has tons of information on it.

Tobacco smoking is the most significant contributing factors to low life expectancy, particularly cancer and coronary heart disease. Reducing smoking is a key improvement area.

Statistics tell us that tobacco steals worldwide approximately seven lives every minute of every day of the year. An important step in the recovery process from nicotine addiction is to look closely at the damage smoking causes. As hard as that can be, it will help fuel your resolve to quit smoking, once and for all.

Cigarette smoke contains a number of different toxins, including carbon monoxide, which reduces the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, and tar (or polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) which cause cancer, and nicotine which is addictive and which is a vasoconstrictor (causes blood vessels to contract) and particulate matter which gets the lungs dirty and contributes to diseases such as asthma or emphysema. The overall effect is that cigarette smoking is EXTREMELY bad for your health. Don't do it.

What is the difference of primary smoking and secondary smoking?

The difference between primary and secondary smoking is very simple. Primary smoking is actually smoking the cigarette yourself, whereas secondary or second hand smoking is inhaling fumes of other smokers around you, whilst you are not actually smoking the cigarette. That is why the smoking ban was introduced and more and more smokers are smoking in smoking shelters. Which, not only provides shelter for them when they are smoking outside, but it also protects non smokers from the harmful fumes.

Is Smoking less than ten cigarettes a day harmful to health?

Any amount of smoking is harmful to your health. Ten cigarettes a day is most likely not as harmful as smoking, say, a pack a day. But it's still FAR worse than not smoking at all. Furthermore, since there have been few studies when it comes to light smoking, it is difficult to say how the dangers of smoking, say, 10 cigarettes a day compares to smoking a pack a day.
