How is sugar made out of sugarcane?

Answer:
Sugarcane looks like a smaller version of bamboo. It is similar, but where bamboo has hollow "cells", sugarcane has a porous membrane that fills the cell. This pulp is harvested and crushed to extract the juice inside. This liquid is then evaporated or cooked off and sugar crystals are left.
