The Eastern Orthodox Church has many similarities in ritual and worship With the Catholic Church. They both believe in the Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), recognize Jesus Christ as Savior of the human race, the resurrection of Christ, that Mary is the Theotokos (God-bearer), the Bible is the inspired word of God, Apostolic Succession, Seven Sacraments, that Christ is not just a symbol in the Eucharist, veneration of saints and the Virgin Mary, and the use of iconography, vestments, decoration, and incense in the Church.
