It depends on the person. As a Christian I know it is impossible to both believe and to do what God requires without the Holy Spirit. He is also the guide who pinpoints and highlights spiritual truth. It is one thing to read the words but quite another to have God's perspective and also to see how so many of the scriptures fit together. This is the Holy Spirit's very real and personal teaching role. Then there is also the work of conviction - that one has got off track or failed to understand what one ought to have known.
Although there is no evidence that the Holy Spirit exists, he is real to people through their faith in his existence.
Christians believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity. God the Father, and God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. This would make the Holy Spirit a He. The Holy Spirit helps you in every way. You may think that you make all of your decisions but in actual fact you don't! Believe it or not the Holy Spirit helps you decide whatever you cant decide on. Even if you do not believe in the spirit he is all around us. Say you couldn't decide on applying for a job the Holy Spirit will help you decide to or not apply even if you think it is entirely your own decision.

ANSWER I paid someone to help me receive the Holy Spirit. There is an account in the Bible that may scare some people away from this. But if you are doing it for the right reasons it does not hurt to pay someone. I paid a member of a ministry team because I wanted to speak in tongues real bad. But this was out of a real heartfelt desire to worship God at the next level. I would not recommend paying for this out of a desire for prestige or something.
the word trinity isn't in the bible if your refering to it. they are not people Father (God) Son ( emanuel Christ Jesus) and the holy spirit
A:If I look at two people of good character, I can not tell which one is a Christian and has been guided by the Holy Spirit and which one is an atheist. They have achieved good character either with the Holy Spirit or without. If I look at two people of disreputable character, I can not tell which one is a Christian and could have been guided by the Holy Spirit and which one is an atheist. One has character flaws in spite of the best efforts of the Holy Spirit. The other simply has character flaws.Whatever people judge my character to be (and I trust them to be charitable in their assessments) I have never been guided by the Holy Spirit.
