The whole idea of synchronization is that you DON'T change the voltage (or frequency) from the other generators.
Is FET a voltage controlled capacitor or voltage controlled inductor?
It's a Field Effect Transistor. I personally wouldn't consider it either of those options; if I had to pick one, it's more inductor-like (in that it has impedance).
