I don't no about N Carolina but I would assume that you cannot ride your bike until you do have a license. Motorcycles abide by the same law as automobiles in every state. You can buy a car and keep it as long as you do not drive it without a license. So take you time and be shure you know all the rules and regulations before you get your license.
