Most dental patients prefer 1 week time between tooth extraction and fitting of new dentures. It is always best to consult with a Dentist to determine what is best for you. Same day dentures are placed immediately after the patient's teeth are removed and help the patient avoid being toothless after full mouth extraction. They act as bandages by reducing post surgical bleeding and help healing. The tissues swell after oral surgery so that the dentures fit well right after the surgery. Because the tissues are held together by the denture, stitches are usually not needed. Since stitches are made of foreign material that irritates tissue, patients heal well. It's important to wear the dentures full time for a few days or the post surgical swelling will prevent you from being able to wear them until this swelling goes down. Unfortunately, same day dentures become loose and fall out easily after 3 to 6 months since the tooth sockets heal and the gums shrink. During the healing period, the loose temporary dentures can only be held in with dentures adhesive. After healing, they can be relined to help them fit better but most patients choose to make a new set of dentures that look and feel better. Many patients are very unhappy with their immediate dentures for several reasons. These dentures are not tried in the mouth so that the patient never gets to see how the new smile looks until the dentures are delivered after oral surgery. If there are any problems with the color, shape or the arrangement of the teeth, such as with the smile, there's no going back.
Usually after extraction a temporary denture is used until the gum is completely healed. Most temps can be worn a day or 2 after teeth are extracted. The permanent dentures should wait for 6 moths to a year to be worn.
You have what is called an "immediate denture." The denture was fabricated before your teeth were extracted. The denture was placed in your mouth immediately after the teeth were removed.
The up side of this procedure is that you never had to be without some form of teeth in your mouth. The down side is that the immediate denture does not fit as well as you would like.
After all the swelling is gone and the healing has taken place, you should return to your dentist and have your denture "relined". This will result is a much better fitting denture.
Another important thing to remember is that a denture is an artificial body part like any other prosthesis, an artificial limb or a glass eye. It takes time and patience to adjust to the denture. If you are persistent, eventually you should get used to it. This does not mean you should put up with pain or sores in your mouth. These are signs that the denture needs to be adjusted in some way. See you dentist for these adjustments.
I was told to wait at least a week. check with your dentist to be sure since everyone heals at a different speed
Wait a month because when we do extractions we classify it as surgery and your mouth needs to heal completely before you so any impressions or something of that nature.
There could be a few different reasons on why a dentist would recommend a partial versus and having teeth pulled. The main reason would probably be because the teeth are no more good.
If it is a denture that was made the same day the teeth were extracted, after about 6 weeks, you should have the denture relined. People usually don't want to walk around with out teeth while the bone and tissue heals. So an immediate denture is made. After the swelling goes away the tissue may shrink causing the denture to be sort of loose. This is when it is time to have it relined. Dental adhesive, in my opinion, should be a last resort. If it is a partial instead of a full denture, the person who made it should be able to adust it so the claps hold it in place without having to use adhesive.

An implant-supported denture is stronger, more comfortable, and secure compared to conventional dentures. Such denture provides stronger support to gums and teeth and makes eating, chewing, and speaking easier. For patients who need to replace more than one or two teeth at a time implant-supported denture is the best option for them. You can take care of dentures easily. @charlestonoralandfacialsurgery
