They can't LIVE without water because they can't eat without water. They can stay out of water for a significant amount of time, but they can't consistently exist on land.
The only time they can be out of water for a very long time is during hibernation in the winter, but that's only if the temperature is really low. Otherwise they'll die.
RES have successfully lived after weeks of no water, but you are risking extreme stress and health issues on a turtle after not having water for a couple of days. Question is how long would you want your cute little guy to go without it?
For days, but the problem becomes dehydration from lack of drinking water before anything else. Remember RES are reptiles not amphibians they can be on land indefinitely, but they eat and drink under water. Without being underwater after a day or two they are going to be very uncomfortable and starting to stress out or have health issues.
they wont live very long cause they get dry so fast so about one hour
well they are aquatic so they will probably drink water from the tank
No they cannot because they are very different than tortoises who can live without water but with turtles they are amphibious which means they HAVE TO HAVE WATER WITH THEM AT ALL TIMES.
About 2 days at the most
Red-Eared Slider can stay dry for days to weeks, but they cannot eat without water, I mean enough water to site in while eating as they cannot swallow without the ad of water. If you are transporting the red-Eared being dry is okay, keeping a turtle as a pet dry will be almost considered torture as they will slowly die of starvation and dehydration
no
red eared turtles live in both ,water and land
No, they drink the water that they are swimming/living in.
Cheek it water it needs to be warm.
yes, it does.
Yes, I put my baby slider in a sand filled terrarium over night and feed him in water and he is doing ok
no,slider turtles have fixed tongues but no saliva for that reason they must eat inside water
I suppose you can but any benefit no. Get different water plants
no RES turtles are fresh water turtles
5 inches! The water depth should be about the shell length.
no but it will make them very sick if they dont have enough water
