Cats can live for weeks without food; however, they can only live for several days without water,
After 24 hours the cat is likely to develop hepatic lipidosis, which is very serious and often fatal. 2 days will forever damage his health if he hasn't gotten hepatic lipidosis, and will die sometime on the 3rd if without water.
however if it has food they say about 2 weeks but it also depends on the cat:)
Not long. Possibly a week or so, depending on the cat.
A cat that has access to the outside will usually kill mice, squirrels, birds and other animals to stay alive. Cats will usually only starve if they are trapped accidentally, sick or injured.
It is highly advisable to take the cat to the vet if the cat refuses to eat for more than several days, less than that if the cat is overweight. Ill, hurting, or very fussy cats can refuse to eat for days or even a week at a time, which is a grave danger as this can lead to Feline Hepatic Lipidosis (Fatty Liver Disease), in which the cat's body will start to send fat cells to the liver for fuel, which given enough time untreated, the liver will fail, which is ultimately fatal.
Well, water they are going to need everyday but they might be able to go two days. As for food, cats can go for several days without food because in the wild, the big cats only catch food a couple days a week.
Cats cannot live very long with no food. A pet cat is used to being fed every day - therefore it should not go without food for more than two or three days, especially if the cat is overweight. Cats can develop a condition called Hepatic Lipidosis (Fatty Liver Disease) when a cat loses weight in a short period of time. This condition, left untreated or not diagnosed in time, is fatal.
-- I have seen a cat live 1 week without food or water. It was trapped inside a shed. It survived another 10 years after that.
-- My story - I went on vacation recently and left my cat with my dad to look after. She disappeared shortly thereafter, while I was away. It turns out she had been trapped inside a drawer in my dad's home for three weeks and five days before he finally found her, and she is still alive! I took her immediately to the vet, who determined that she was essentially fine except for a severe urinary tract infection casued by no intake or output of water for so long. She is also very skinny, but I think she is going to be OK! So, perhaps it varies from cat to cat, but mine lasted almost a month without food or water.
-- my story~ i left a kitten home with my great grand mother, my great grandmother was take to the hospitl and later died, but the kitten died within a week of us being gone :(
I miss my kitty!
A cat can survive 24 hours without food and water at the absolute most. Cats may look like they can survive more but NO THEY CAN NOT.
Another Answer
If you cannot feed your cat for a day for whatever reason, get an automatic food feeder at the pet store. Also, put out a large bowl of water. Your cat will be fine for a day. However, it is still advisable for someone to visit every day at the very least to be sure everything is okay, change the litter, add water and to pet the cat. Leave a radio on, too.
about 2-4 months or weeks because without eating or drinking they die, just like a human, without eating or drinking you can die easily.
I think 2-4 days
how long does an andean cat live for
A cat cannot live long on water only, but just how long depends on the condition of the cat. Most cats can live about a week or two with only water, but it can trigger a fatty liver condition when they begin eating again, which can kill them.
Cats can live up to 20 years in Human years
saber tooth cats can live up to about 10,000 years!
By not eating or drinking water for a long period of time:)
God made cats and he decided how long they live.
THEY CAN LIVE 10 days without eating as long as they can drink water :P
On average Siamese cats live for between 15 and 20 years.
5 days
big cats live for 15-20 years in the wild
Normally cats live from 14-16 and if you're lucky, some cats can live beyond 20 years of age.
Yes, cats can live and survive in a meadow as long as there is food it can catch, eat. If the cats were born and raised in the meadow the mother would teach it how to hunt.
