If you want my personal thought, which may not be correct, I think maybe in the next day it will ROT and stink. If it's a type of cheese, yeah, it will stink and rot. Cream cheese should not sit out at room temperature for more than 2 hours. Less time is better.

Food left out of the refrigerator is okay to eat for about 2 hours. If the temperature is under 80 degrees. The longer a food stays in the danger zone the more risk you take eating that food. Foods should either be kept hot or kept cold before eating to be really safe.

You can, for a little while. A few hours at most. After that, it needs to be refridgerated. The frosting especially will go bad if left out for too long.

It depends on the room temperature. If it was reasonably cool it should be ok, but NOT if very young or old, infirm, or pregnant.
