A long time! Have a follow-up sperm count test to make sure they are all gone. I know of one man who had a sperm count 10 months after his vasectomy! If you don't want more children, don't take chances.
From what i have read the sperm is removed out of the urethra when you pee. So if you have sex at 10am then pee and then have sex at 1pm the sperm is removed from the urethra.
