Depends on what he or she did. If its sever then they can be there for months to years. My ex served 7 months in juvi for running away from home. I think that right there can answer your question. If it wasnt serious then weeks to months at max. if the person is 17 and its serious then he may be looking at adult time or a youthful offender camp for a year or two or more. You gotta be more specific cause i can go on and on about this for hours
Yes. Police detain people when there's suspicion, so that person can be examined to see if there is any proof.
ie, a house was burgled and someone was seen leaving the scene. The police check the vicinity and spot someone of that description. They do not have 'proof' but can detain that person so that a forensic check can confirm or deny that suspicion.
Police do not need to have absolute "proof." The law allows them to investigate suspicious circumstances (or people) without absolute knowledge that something has, or is about to, occur.
Define "HOLD" and the amount of time involved. They may 'detain' him for questioning but if he is being "held" in custody he must have been charged with something.
Jail.

No: it's illegal for parents to force their children under 18 out of their home. If this happens to you go to the police station, juvenile detention center, or child protection agency and get help (don't worry: Juvie won't incarcerate you if you go there).
Kids 4 and up are okay.
A young offender is a person under the age of 21 but no younger than 15, they go to a young offenders institute because they're too young to go to prison.
Well, that depends. If you are 9 and commit murders and you are troubled then you deserve to go to Juvenile Detention. Over 13 and there is no remorse or any kind of emotional breakdowns they might send you to a Mental instiution. So, to be honest, it ranges from any young age to 18.
Juvenile Detention CentresJuvenile Detention Centers are prisons for children under the age of 18. If a child commits a crime worthy of incarceration, they go there until their sentence expires or they become 18, at which point they are transferred to a normal prison. There are different regulations regarding the running of juvenile detention centers, including the provision of education. There are a variety of other 'punishments' that people incarcerated there undergo, including the mundane such as cleaning work, as well as other activities depending on the detention center.
any kids under 18 and 5+ can go to the juve
Jail.
YOU CAN GO TO JUVY FOR swearing in a public
if they did something serious then they should go.
Drug abusers can go to rehab or a treatment center. Teens can go to juvenile detention.
Then that minor would have assault charges and brought to juvenile detention where they would have to go through juvenile court.
They can get suspended, expelled, maybe even go to a juvenile detention center. ( jail for kids under 18) Wouldn't that be terrible. :(
half the kids in london under the age of 16 have a conviction for possession of cannabis, of course you could go!
No juveniles go to the county jail; however, if a juvenile were to commit the crime of "Breaking and Entering", they may be sentenced to a Juvenile Detention Facility.
