How long did Edgar Allan Poe live with the Allan's?

Edgar Allan Poe was adopted by John and Frances Allan on December 26, 1811. He enlisted in the Army on May 26, 1827. Whether he kept his residence with the Allans at that time is not known.

He lived from 1809 to 1849 which would have lived for 40 years, i believe.

Edgar Allan Poe was alive from January 19, 1809 to October 7, 1849.

Because he wasn't dead at the time.
