The story of the wise men is given in Matthew. First of all, it doesn't mention three wise men, just "wise men". They came to Bethlehem to seek "The King of the Jews" when Jesus was a "young child". So, based on this, one could invisage a time between 1-10 years AD. There's an interesting story from Kashmir; Buddhist history talks about Yuz Asaf, a Buddhist leader who was born in Judea in the first century. Buddhists believe that their leader is a re-incarnation of an earlier leader. They discover the leader by reading astrological charts and prayer. The Kashmir Buddhists predicted the leader would be born in Judea and went to find him, so at some point in the first century, some Wise Men from the East arrived in Judea to tell a family that their recently born son (Yuz Asaf) was to be a religious leader. The story goes on that Yuz Asaf came to Kashmir as a young man (around 12 years old) for training then returned to Judea at the age of 30. Yuz Asaf came back to Kashmir a few years later with injured feet and hands, his grave is in Kashmir and, intrigingly, there is a carving of feet on the grave that show the marks of crucification.
We don't know the exact day, but it was around 2 years after the birth of Jesus. (Jesus, being born in April.) That's why King Herod had every male in the area age 2 and under killed. Jesus would have been around 2 years old when they stopped by Herod's flat for a visit.
So next time you set up your nativity, make sure you put the wise men at about 2 years away from the manger. ;-)
The wise men probably visited Jesus when he was around two. That is why Herod commanded that all male children two and younger to be killed. He inquired of the wise men when they first saw the star and it was roughly two years before their visit.

There is no historical reference to the wise men, nor are they mentioned by Luke's Gospel, so we must rely solely on Matthew's Gospel for information about the wise men, but this Gospel does not say when the wise men began their journey or when they arrived in Bethlehem.
Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury and leader of the world's Anglicans, has described the story of the three wise men as nothing but a "legend" and says there is little evidence that they existed. John Shelby Spong (Born of a Woman: A Bishop Rethinks the Birth of Jesus) calls Matthew's story of the magi, or wise men, Christian midrash and says that among people he knows in New Testament circles, the universal assumption is that the magi (wise men) were not actual people. If there were no wise men, or magi, then we can not say when they began their journey.
Unknown
First there is nothing in The Bible saying there were a total of three wisemen. There might of been 2 or 100. All that is mentioned is 3 different gifts.
"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem" Matthew 2:1
"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh." Matthew 2:10,11
Also unlike the TV shows he wasn't a baby in a manger by the time they got to Him but a young child. Maybe 2 or 3 years old.
Jesus was already born and an unknown age by the time the Magi visited Herod. They could of started traveling after He was born or spent a year traveling prior to His birth. We don't know.
Gospel of Matthew suggests that Jesus was already 2 years old when visited by the three wise men. Since Herod died in 4BCE, then this event must have happen on or before 4BCE.
The three wise men arrived at Bethlehem on 25h December. But this in debatable as in December 25th it is to cold for sheperds to sit in open fields.
Just after Jesus found Magi
There is no given name in the bible for the Three Wise Men. They were referred as "Magi" in the original Bible.
The Bible says that the Wise Men went to the palace of King Herod.
The weddings at the time of Jesus was long as they went on for days on end. And the groom would land up anytime , as Jesus told us in the parable of the five wise virgins.
