The first one took place on May 23, 1862, when the Confederates, led by Stonewall Jackson, thanks their overwhelming numbers defeated the Union garrison and lasted
some hours.
The second one took place on May 3o, 1862 when a pursuing Federal Force routed Jackson's rear ward after some hours of fighting.
