How long can a penguin stay under water for?

A polar bear can stay underwater for 7- 9 minutes but they usually prefer to go for 6- 7 minutes...Its gives them enough time to hunt underwater...After 7 minutes they start struggling for air...

While hunting they hold their breath for 1- 3 minutes and come up and as soon as they see their prey, they use their average capacity i.e. 5- 6 minutes...

well penguins are fast swimmers but from under water they have to go and jump up in the air so they can get some more air so it can go back down and swim with its other penguin friends.
