Peanuts are planted two inches deep. They break through the soil about 10 days after planting. About 40 days after planting, yellow flowers form. The flowers self-pollinate. Petals drops to the ground, as the peanut ovary ka peg forms. The peg matures underground by growing on a vine and breaking through the soil. Below-ground is where the fruit, ka peanut, matures. Peanuts tend to be harvestable within 120-150 days of planting.
