If you starve yourself you will be very unhealthy and weak and probably grumpy. And as soon as you start eating again, you will gain all of the weight back and probably more. It's better to eat 5-6 light meals a day of healthy things. And try to stay away from pop other junk foods. It may take a while for you to lose wieght, each person is different. But if you are eating healthy, you will lose weight. You will see it a lot faster if you are excersising along with eathing healthy.

I find if you starve yourself for three days and eat one meal on the 4th day, you can lose up to 7 pounds the first week. From then, you can lose about three pounds a week. I have done it for two months at a time and it works! But I wouldn't advise this type of dieting as it will consume you and you will never have normal eating habits again. Believe me....I have been doing this for 11 years!

Do not starve yourself. When you skip a meal your body holds more of the next one and your metabolism slows even if just a little. If you make it a habit you will become anorexic. This is a very unhealthy and unsafe way of trying to lose weight. You become hungry because your body needs food to keep it going. If you starve yourself you will be killing your body (I'm not talking about skipping one meal one time or something like that). It isn't healthy to not eat. Their are many diets and exercise plans out there that you should try looking at. Anorexia is a very serious problem. Don't get yourself mixed up with it.

i use to starve myself for 2 weeks all that i would eat is soup nothing else lots of coffee no sugar! lots of cigarettes help kill the hunger after 2 weeks u will get use to it try only eat instant soup not real soup with meat and veg. try drinking chicory coffee not real coffee as it helps speed up weight loss. if that doesnt help sugar free gum also works.

i gave birth in the spring and gained a total of 65 pounds. To date, I have lost 72 pounds. I starve myself, and drink tons of water, with pepsi. Occassionly I will eat healthy meal a day, usually at supper. It is working, and it works f*ucking fast!

If you are one of those people who when they eat it makes them crave more food I found that starving yourself for two days shrinks your stomach. When you start eating again on the third day your portions will be smaller and you wont feel the need to eat between meals. I have lost 5 pounds in a week by this method. When you feel that you are starting to eat more and not feeling full fast for a day to shrink your stomach again.

I am on my thrird day. I usually eat such a grotesque amount of food, that if I believed in it, I'd be guilty of glutony.But I'm chubby, not obese. The last meal I have eaten was exatcly 72 hours ago. I feel great. Everyone's different. Its hard to starve yourself unless you are taking some form of appittite suppressant or stimulant. Who do you know that can live for days at a time on tea or water? I know someone, but she did have occasional coffee. Her favorite model at the time was, guess, Kate moss.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYBODY PLEASE GET HELP NOW!!!!!!!! Im not saying its anybodys fault here, it's chemicals in your brain. I starved myself, lost 30 pounds and gained 35 pounds back. You can't starve yourself without gaining it all back. Im sorry to be harsh about it but its only because I have gone through so much pain and anger from starveing myself. I can tell you 100 good reasons not to starve yourself but I am so tired of telling everyone. DONT think it wont happen to you, because it will. Seriously starving does work, i was 155 pounds in the summer, then i moved out and could only afford little quick meals like a can of soup, i also run 6K twice a week and drink tons of water, every once in a while i have a day where i binge on food, but i dont even want to, gross food makes me like physically sick now. anyways ive lost 20 pounds, and im not craving junk food or anything fattening. I just want to be at a point where I am happy with my body in the way that i can wear nice clothes without walking all night sucking in my stomach. I think that starving yourself does help but you want to lose weight and look good, right? Well how good will you feel when your that hungry the pain in your stomach is almost unbearable and your family feels helpless because they love you and do not want to see you throw your life away. Try the heathly method and eat lots of fruit, drink heaps of water and stay away from the chocolate. Also partying on the weekends does not help if you require the usual hangover cure of macca's the next day. Try eating a caeser salad, i di and it felt great. Just please don't starve. I agree with her ^!! starving seems like a quick and easy way to get the body we all only see in our dreams. Physically it works yeah. But inside you are slowing and sometimes quickly just killing yourself. Its soo scary! why do it. what we all need is self driven determination. I know excersise blws, I hate being active. I hate saying no to Figaros pizza and a cold pepsi, then choosing grape fruit and a water instead. But instead of starvation, why not just eat healthy food, lose weight and excersise like not even once a day. even healthy food alone does the trick, this way your still giving your body the nutrition and vitamins IT NEEDS and you still get to eat tasty food. a few things you can SPLURGE on while eating healthy are, slim fast shakes. yum! grape frout. saltine crackers with cheese ( not alot) black cofee and tea is a great metabolism booster. and lastly water. Its so plain. But on those days where theres nothing to do, go jog or do sit ups. your be craving a tall glass of water and then get full on that. trust me, its so much healthier! i odnt care if you are 200 pds. you have a big nose or the worst acne, you are all beautiful, dont change for anybody, if they cant except you for you, thn there just not accepting themselves! ae all are truly beautiful. thats why god made you who you are :)

Everytime I read someone say that starving yourself doesnt work, I get so confused; because everytime I have starved myself (even for only 3 days) I have noticed a jump in weight loss.

An alternative to actually starving yourself, that some of you may still considered to be starving yourself is only eating foods in their natural form or so to speak. example.

Breafast - Oatmeal - as much as you want with equal and cinnamin Lunch - Ceasar salad from Mcdonalds - has so little fat and calories Dinner - veggies - cooked fresh with no oil

You can eat oatmeal anytime you want and as much as you want and it will fill you up so you wont be hungry.

But.... nothing works like starving yourself!!!! With starving yourself (you will be loosing weight within the 2nd day)

Guys..what are you doing to yourselves? I've suffered from anorexia for 11 years now; being born into a family where such behaviors and habits were normal. I lived off of milk and sandwhiches as a child, and can hardly bring myself to have food TOUCH my lips without hesitation at 17 years of age. Starving yourself is not the answer. You're hurting your brain, your muscle mass, the strength of your bones, your vital organs. If you want to lose weight, and keep it off, wouldn't you want to do the best, and most healthiest thing for your body to ensure that you look slim and slender, and STAY that way too? My fear of gaining weight, and body fat in general increases every day of my life. Not a second goes by where I don't think about it. . .is that what you really want? Starving yourself, anorexia, bulimia--these aren't ways of life, no matter HOW many pro-anorexics claim it to be..no matter how many nearly emaciated celebrities you see on TV. These women are sick. They are unhealthy, and in their future, they are looking for a series of medical problems with the way they are dieting. Take advice from someone who's been to the very bottom, weighing 85 pounds at age 15, 5'3, and still on a rocky recovery to a normal body weight. I know there is no hope for me, as returning to a "regular diet", but please, especially the women out there, do NOT put yourselves in such a situation! Eat healthy, and excercise. Think positively of yourselves, and take time out of your day to relieve stress. I promise you, the healthier way is a much, much better alternative than a slow and painful path to death. . .

All you people talk about starving yourself and annorexia, but im sorry i just dont see the connection. Starving yourself works when you have a very little time to lose weight, and actually it's probably the only thing that does. I'm 16 and weigh 109 pounds normally, but if i starve myself on the weekends (when i dont have practice and dont technically need energy for anything) it allows me to get down to 103 by the end of the week. And even if you dont have to lose weight but you'd just like to, it really works because it makes you eat less on the days where your not starving yourself + it makes you want healthy food instead of junk food. I recommend it.

I like my food and i find it hard to starve myself when i live my parents as dinner is always put on the table when i get in soooo i have a good way i either say i'm on a liquid diet and not eat anything or i don't eat all day then when i get home i only eat a little bit of my tea and say i had a big lunch or i call my parents and say i went to the pub for lunch so i don't want any tea. I found these really good sugar free sweets i can eat if i get the urge to eat anything thou they have a laxative effect thou i suppose that's another great way to loose weight...

You guys notice how you have to KEEP starving yourselves for those few days? It's because despite the rapid weight loss, it comes back. The only ways to get rid of that weight is to either become anorexic/bulimic, or eat healthy and exercise. And take it from a person who's comptemplated starving herself many times, who HAS tried it before. Sure, guess what, I did lose some weight. But my stomach also started to eat itself and then I got a stomach ulcer, and when someone even HUGGED me, I got horrible stabbing pain in my upper and lower abdomen. And then I had to force myself to eat when I thought I wasn't hungry - because your body doesn't send you the impulses like it usually does, and now I still eat when I'm not hungry and I ended up GAINING weight! Jeez, I know it's hard, I hate exercising and getting sweaty, and I still wonder if I should just try skipping meals again but I know what the consequences will be. I don't want to look like some skinny model, I just don't want a fat gut, y'know? That's all you guys want to do, is have a cute belly. But by starving yourself, then eating normally, and repeating that, or purging, or constantly starving yourself, you're going to ruin your body even though it'll get thin. I'd rather be a little overweight than lose my entire life to an eating disorder.

HI! I'm 18 (just) and I HAVE BEE NLOSIGN WEIGHT EASILY AND SUCCESSFULLY! Here's how:

Um, When you don't eat for a day it slows your metabolism. The SLOWER YOUR METABOLISM, THE MORE FAT YOUR BODY STORES from each meal. Your metabolism was Gods idea of keeping us alive during times when there is not enough food available.

Like, if there were a famine, your metabolism would slow down So your body would not use up all the energy. It stores the extra energy as fat to use on those days when there is not enough food. You dig?

I found out on the net HOW TO MAKE YOUR METABOLISM FASTER. Cardio exercise. Anything that gets your heart a-pumping! Like, biking (yay! Exercise bikes!), walking at a good pace, jogging (not for me!) etc. Your metabolism skyrockets and you can eat more and not put on weight. Or you can EAT THE SAME AMOUNT AND LOSE WEIGHT!

Oh my gosh: Pilates!!!!!! YOU DON'T NEED TO BUY THE DVDS! I watched the infomercials and got some of the exercises off it. I do them myself and THEY ARE AWESOME! I HAVE BEEN LOSING FAT EVERY DAY! Like the one where you lie on your side, have your elbow proping your upper body up, head in hand and LIFT YOUR TOP LEG UP AND THEN DOWN. Do it slowly and be in control. GOODBYE 'LOVEHANDLES'!

And there ain't nothing wrong with a simple crunch. Get a CHAIR. Put your legs resting on the seat of the chair. The back of your knees should be on the edge of the chair, or just have your feet against the back of the chair. Whatever is comfy and it depends on the chair size. Now SUPPORT YOUR HEAD/NECK WITH YOUR HANDS. And Crunch! MAKE SURE YOU HOLD IN YOUR ABDOMINALS THE WHOLE TIME! TRUST ME! If you concentrate on your abs your neck will not get sore. Start with 5 a day for a week then move on to 10 etc. Man, now I can do 30 a day, and you should SEE my abs! Well, you cant exactly see them, they are still under my lessening layer of fat, but they are THERE!

And let me tell you, it feels ggod to eat! I went on a crash diet. It sucked at first, and my stupid stomoch wouldn't shut up! I was tired and HUNGRY and I just wanted my favourite foods! But then I got used to it. I held my head higher every day. I was proud of myself for controlling myself from eating. I got better and better at it. I was getting skinnier. You could see it in my face and everywhere else, though it wasn't THAT fast. But, one morning I woke up sick. Panicked. I vomited water. IT WAS AWFUL. But I KEPT GOING. I "stayed strong". Didn't "let myself go". That is some of the things I told myself.

I found ways of not letting people know that I wasn't eating. Making the dinner while my mum was on her walk and telling her I had already eaten. Dirtying plates to make it look like I had eaten. You get it. I kept going and going. THen i started to not lose as much weight as befoer, but kept going.

Then, I started to die. Seriously, die. My brain didn't work as good. I began to get weaker and weaker. I damaged my liver, kidneys. Heart, emotionally as well as physically. I had been known for my quick wit and imagination. Then was dying. I put my weight above EVERYTHING. Now I was dying. I couldn't be ME. I COULDN'T BE ME ANYMORE. I was sick. SICK. I needed help.

I began to eat. At first I couldn't. I vomited it. I wanted to eat good food (junk food) but I managed to be strong and only eat fruit, vegetables and grains. I drank soymilk (no lactose). I began to come back to life. I still hated myself for eating at that stage. How weak. All that time, wasted. You stupid fat pig." That is what I told myself. But I began to pray. That sounds stupid to some of you, but I have to tell you my story. Please hear me out. I prayed.

"What the hell am I doing. There ain't anyone f listening. Are you going crazy you...?" But I kept praying. What the hell? My prayers got answered? I didn't know that would happen, I just didn't know what to do so I prayed that's all. ANd like, I got better. I figured how to be how I wanted. And I shared some of that with you before. And I found out that God actually exists. I thought he didn't like some made up crap but he is there, so there! I am happy now! And I have someone who loves me! He always has he said and he always will even if i do something really bad. and he told me that it doesn't matter if i am the fattest girl in the UNIVERSE, he still loves me! ANd this blew me so far away! HOw does that work? I'm just a fat idiot girl to me, let alone the creator of the universe! But he does and he loves everyone, even murderers. HE even loves the people I hate. I don't understand that, like I hate bullies and murderes and stuff but he loves them, he just hates what they do.

So anyway, I'm free, I'm me, I'm happy, I'm not depressed anymore. I am worth something and beautiful to someone, and i think thats all I needed. Thanks to God.

Hey Guys, I know that starving works...I think everybody knows it works but it's not easy to just stop eating. I have tired and I have lost weight and drank lots of green tea. It helps you melt your fat away but it's not that easy to just stop eating. I have tired and am trying to lose more weight and be less loads less then I am right now. HEy i just wanted to say, that starving is not the right way to go and u should really think about it before you do it because i used to do it and let me tell u, u definitely lose the wight but u lose ur breasts aswell, seriously one of the first thinks ull lose is the fullness of oyur breasts and its soo hard to gain it back! its a very unhealthy thing to do and what u need to do is just eat helthyly and exercise! Another VERY important reason not to starve yourself is because it shuts down alot of organs in your body because they dont get enough nutriends to keep it working and you can EASILY become infertile! now just tell me is it really worh it? is it worth not having children some day n not being able to share this joy? so please think about this before you go on starving yourself, just exercise and youll lose the same amount of weight youll even feel better and stronger:)

for everyone that says sraving doens't work, news flash, it does. and when i do eat larger meals, i can't eat as much because my stomach has shrunk. i lost 10 pounds in one week by starving myself. and yes, you can just stop eating. i did it. the first week was the hardest, but after it was over, i was fine. i felt so proud of myself after that too. i have noticed a difference in the way i look and i am a lot more happy with myself now.

for those of you who just can't possibly manage to stop cold turkey, try this.

- the first three days, limit yourself to one full meal. (ex. fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, glass of milk) - the next three days, limit yourself to half of that meal. (smaller piece of chicken, or just dont't eat it all, half the mashed potatoes, half the corn and i glass or milk) - the next two days, cut it in half again. (no chicken, a spoonfull of mashed potatoes, and a spoonfull of corn, and a glass of milk) - the next three days, pick out somthing small (like crackers or raisons) and eat them through out the day. don't pig out either. have maybe four or five crackers in the morning, four or five at lunch, and then two or three around dinner time. - the rest of the time, it is your call. by now, you should have better control of your eating. i personally, do splurge every so often, but i still can't eat as much as i use to without getting full.

im not trying to be horrid here but you people dont understand how stupid you are. starving yourself to lose wieght is the worst possible thing you can do to your body. in the end youll end up gaining more wieght than you lost. not eating slows down your metabolism wich in turn makes u less able to exercise and then when you DO eat your body will store as much fat as possible that it can get. why do you not understand that you are ruining your bodies?

Hello I have done the whole starving thing as well. Lastyear at christmas i didnt eat for three days. On the third day i felt so good i was back to 130 and i made alot of money at work. Oh yeah i forgot to mention i am a "dancer" there is alot of pressure to look good at my job. But i always gained it all back. Know i am back to being 140-145. I want to be 115 pounds like i was in highschool. So now i am trying it once again and i started last night. ALl i had was tomatoe soup and tea. Because its hard to sleep at night when you ahve an empty tummy try a sleep aid (unisom, tylenol pm,ect) then when you wake up the next morning you will feel so good. I told myself i wont stop until somebody says oh my (Adriana) youve lost weight. And you look really good. Then at christmans i will have dinner and whatever then i will continue again. After i loose all this f*ucking weight i will then go on Atkins or south beach to keep all this weight off. So guys i hope you all luck let me know how much you lost. Im day 2 and 140. Oh i forgot to mention i am going to buy trimspa to give me a little nudge.

I also forgot to mention the time i got pregnant and lost the baby. I was 135 before i got pregnant then i gained at least 12 pounds. After i got out of the hospital and recovered I starved myself until i was down to 134. I then went back to work and i felt so good. Unfortunatly after my first day at work I didnt make that much money and i said f*uck it and i ate wendeys, mcdonalds, everything you can think off. im a 14 year old girl...i play softball(2nd base)...cheerleading(stunts)...and im just overall very active like i play alot in gym. i eat fruits and water. i eat good food like oatmeal, rice and beans, good meat. Yes. you can starve your self and keep it off if you don't over eat. when you decide to start eating agian you can only eat a littel bit and then you graduly eat your way to three small meals a day don't forget to work out after every meal though. so you can get and shape at the weight you are at trust me it works i went from 168 to 132 in one month it does work trust a year later and i m still lose weight but not as fast because i eat now. try it
