At least long enough to learn that you don't put "an" before the word "zoologist". I'd say like 3 years, yeah that sounds about right.

at the minimum two.
first you study a first diploma in animal care. this takes a year.
then you study a national diploma in animal management.
after that you are free to go study zoology and become a zoologist
