to tell you the truth i popped a 30 at about 9 this morning then another at about 1 and its 3 in the morning and i thinks it is just got out of my system. long time. don't take one after 2 or 3 in the afternoon cause you wont go to sleep.

RE: Depends how long you have been taking 30 mg XR Adderall. I've been taking it for 5 years now, and I really don't feel it kick in anymore. So where initially the 30 lasted roughly 6-8 hours now last maybe 4.5-5.0 hours. If you want to shorten the amount of time addy is in your system, open up the capsule itself and pour them into your mouth. It ought to shed at least 2 or 3 hours off its duration (strengh drops big time).

I'm not prescribed Adderall, but I have been taking 30mg doses fairly regularly now (1 - 2 times a week). And given I didn't ween myself onto the drug I have encountered pretty drastic side-effects. Aside from cotton-mouth later in the day which causes me to unconsciously chew my cheeks a bit, the stimulant/focus effect of this medication, at least in the 30mg dose, can last me multiple days depending on my activity level, and given most of my work is done at a computer and leaves me mostly stationary for hours on end, I've been able to ride the effect for upwards of 48 hours before crashing.

For the guy who said a Adderall 30mg XL works for 48 hours. Dude, the effects wear off at the very longest 12 hours. You mind is tricking you to believe that that it's still working 24-48hours later giving you a placebo effect once it's worn off. Even the half-life has warn off completely. The adderall AND it's metabolites could even be out of your system in 48 hours. You have a powerful mind bro. Anyways adderall XR is supposed to last for 12 hours. But it depends how high your tolerance is, if you ate before you took the medication, your metabolism, etc. It all depends on the person.

Adderall XR is an extremely powerful drug and I've had some experiences with it as well, and as someone who's been taking different variations of ADHD medication off and on for over a year now and without having the illness or having a prescription , I'm going to have to agree with the guy who claims he's felt some of this drugs effects in his system for up to 48 hours it may seem like. I've experienced somewhat similar symptoms but i wouldn't necessarily classify the specific feelings you've been having as far as feeling like the drug is still working in your body, because that's physically impossible. However, you and i alike probably have just as intense "comedown" symptoms which isn't necessarily the easiest feeling to set aside from the original effects Adderall takes on one's body. Thank you.

For me it depends what dosage you take. Like I take 25mg XR if I dont drink any liquids it just stays in my system longer. It lasts about 8 to 12 hrs.

I would not recommend not drinking fluids for 8 to 12 hours. Amphetamine's all ready dehydrate you, so by not drinking any liquid you may get dehydration. I guarantee that person feels like crap at the end of the day, and nearly passes out every time they stand up, especially if they do not eat. Make sure to drink plenty of fluids and eat even if you do not want to. It will do wonders if you experience a "crash" or "hangover" in the morning.

I've taken 15 mg of Adderall a few times. I'm about 160 lbs and it lasts me about 4 hours.

i usually take another before i come off of the 1st.

the only problem is that i get jittery and can't sleep.

but i think it's worth it.

I asked my doctor not too long ago what the difference is between extended release and non XR, and he told me that non XR lasts around 4 hours while XR should last around 8. That should differ depending on user's size, dosage, and tolerance, however.

non XR is for short bursts where you may need to study for an exam or do a task that requires a short period of intense focus, while XR is usually for whole-day long lasting ADD/ADHD treatment. XR has half of the beads coated with a material that digests slowly, so your body only takes in half at one time, then half a little while later. this often leads to the inability to sleep however. Hopefully I've been helpful...

The half life of Adderall is approximately 10 hours. That means that if you took it at 8:00 am, then 15 mg would still be in your system at 6:00 pm. Most people who don't take the extended release will take one tablet first thing in the morning an another at noon.

around 6 hrs of sought effect, so have a good slug of pepto/couple tbsp of bicarb in water (helps you absorb more of the drug), wait 5, take said 30mg adderall xr with seltzer/fizzy drink (same positive effect on absorption)...an hour to come up while you can tweedle your fingers, then everything'll start to feel really "worth it" and productive. you'll feel like this for 6-8 hrs and then as it tapers, you may still feel the "go" in your body but in your head might become moody or depressed. IMO it's good to have something to come down with, and if you remember to eat, you'll sleep off the whole thing and be no worse for wear :)

about an hour. I use to take it...lol, that medication is something you don't wanna be on after you took it and you are coming off of it as it wears off. Terrible feelings.
