The answer above is not 100% accurate. I am not 100% either but I do know someone that took 4 mg of valium one time and it stayed in his system for 2 weeks. It is not xanax, but it is the same class of drug, benzodyazipin.I have known many people that have had xanax stay in their system for up to 2-4 weeks, but they took it more than once. But taking it one time, it could be in your system anywhere from 1-2 weeks. If you are expecting a drug test, I would not take one within 2 weeks.



First off, what were you trying to do?? It only takes like 2mg to get high. 4 mgs is a lot of fcking xanax. The comedown from 4mg could be up to 48 hours so what the first answer said about a couple hours is completely wrong. Bc I've taken 4 mgs before and was high for 2 days. If this is the first time you've ever done xanax it should be out of your system in about 3 days or so. But if you do it all the time it could take 6 weeks maybe a bit more to clear out.

I know people that take alot more xanax than that, and yes, they are retarded but they develop a tolerance and do not stay retarded for days, but they are retarded for the fact they take so many. I have known people to go into seizures when they go into benzo-withdrawal. Xanax could stay in your system for 2-4 weeks if taken on a regular basis. I know someone who took a couple valium one time to ease his opiate wi thdrawal, and 2 weeks later a methadone clinic would not let him in because they said he had benzo's in his system, so I know just taking it one time it can stay in your system for up to 2 weeks, from personal experience.
