There is no term limit to cabinet level positions. Attorney General Janet Reno served as the only attorney general in President Clinton's administration, making her the longest-serving attorney general.

The United States Attorney General is the chief law enforcement officer for the federal government and, as the head of the Justice Department, considered to be part of a President's Cabinet. The US Attorney general is nominated by the President, but then confirmed by the US Senate. There is no set term of office; the US Attorney general serves at the pleasure of the President.

So, up to 8 years (2 Presidental terms), unless they are nominated by more than one President.

The Attorney General is appointed by the President but nominees must be confirmed by the US Senate. There are no minimum or maximum terms for cabinet officials.
