Best Answer

in their shells

Snails hide usually in between foliage at ground level, under rocks or planks, or anywhere that is not too hot and not too cold for them. Also where they cannot be easily seen by predators such as birds. That is why they come out into the open at night time and travel to good feeding places. They like the leaves and petals of many varieties of flowers, especially 'Cinerarias'.
