∙ 13y agoIt depends on whether your taking medicine to help get rid of it, or your just letting it go it's course. With medicine, the pain should begin to subside in 1-3 days after you start taking antibiotics. Oral antibiotics are usually given 3-4 days worth to know that its effective. It is changed to a higher medicine or "class" if there is no improvement at this time.

It may be a more serious condition if it doesn't get better by that time frame.
