Technically, there are four quarters, each 15 min long with a halftime of 15 min. Generally it will last about two hours unless there is a sudden death.

- Well, I know that NFL games tend to be about 3 hours. I wouldn't be surprised if college is pretty similar. I think that the rules for stopping the clock on first downs are different in the NFL and NCAA, and maybe other times as well. So they might actually not be THAT close.
- It's closer to 3 hours and 'many times its more than 3 hours. OT will always be more than 3. It's a 30 minute halftime.
