How long does birth control stay in your system once you have stopped taking it? |
Answer
up to 2 days maximum. from the first day you don't take a pill, do not count on it to prevent pregnancy. If you have unprotected intercourse after you stop taking the pill, go to your doctor or local clinic and get the morning after pill within 48 hours.
Answer
Hello.
Birth control remains in your system for a total of three months once you stop taking it. However when you miss one pill this does put you at risk of pregnancy.
Birth control stays in your system for this amount of time because the pills contain different hormones which stop you from ovulating and prevent you from releasing a egg to be fertilised. Once you stop birth control the hormone levels combined in the pill gradually decreases and your body learns to function once again without birth control pills.
Answer
Less than three days.
Answer

Answer
I heard it should be cleared out of your system in a week.
Answer
It's possible to get pregnant the day after stopping the pill. I know a girl that was changing pill brands and didn't take the pill for one day in between pill packs. She had a baby in March.
Answer
I can only tell you by experience...I got pregnant with my youngest by missing a pill, my mother got pregnant with my brother from missing a pill, and one of my closest friends got pregnant on the pill without missing one. I kid you not, the list goes on and on of women that conceived from either missing a pill or two or just not taking one strong enough for them.
Answer
Usually around 3 months.
Answer
Pills are out of your system pretty much immediately. That is why they say if you skip two pills, you have to use a backup birth control method for a week. Other things like shots, patches, etc. can take a few months.
Answer
As soon as you bleed it has gone. that is a withdrawal bleed, meaning the hormones are out of your system. However they may have depressed your own hormone production which may take a while to get back to normal.
My doctor first told me it would only take a month at the longest for my body to get back used to not taking the pill, but months went by and i begin being like a week late for my periods and i would think i was pregnant but i never was, so i went back to my doctor and he said that the pill had messed up my hormones bad and he could not really tell me how long it would take for me to get pregnant, i have been off the pill for 8 months now and im still not pregnant so my best advice is don't take the pill if you plan to have kids in the future.
