It depends on the player, and if he is coming from a dead start from first, or rounding first after hitting the ball.

On average, it takes a player a little over 4 seconds (4.2-4.6) to get from first to second from a dead start. If rounding first from home (for instance, he just hit a double) it would be slightly quicker since he has a running start. Maybe right around 4 seconds. Very quick players can make it from a dead start in 3.8-3.9 seconds.
