Mine grew after 4 weeks, and just a few days after I put it in real soil in a cup. (It was in some wood chip stuff.) Be sure to water it every day, and give it plenty of light. Mine has been growing a bit more each day, and this is day 5 or 6 for me.

It is very easy to sprout lima beans, but if you are doing so to eat them then you must know that raw beans, and especially raw kidney beans and lima beans, are toxic to humans. Cook them and they are fine, but raw you don't want to do. Lima beans contain a chemical called linamarin which is a cyanogenic glycoside or a chemical containing cyanide which is deactivated with heat. Always cook your limas! Even eating only 3/4 pound can cause serious problems in humans.

It takes about 5 days to germinate and 80-100 days to become a lima bean.
