What do you think is Too Much Homework?
I am in private middle school, and I know that each grade gets more homework thean the previous. I will not say what grade I'm in, but I will tell you this; I spend about an hour a night on each subject, and I have spanish, history, English, math, science, and technology homework almost every night.
This is merely a matter of opinion. Most students would agree with this, whereas some teachers and principals would not.
It also depends on the teachers and subjects the young person has chosen, for example a stricter teacher in a highly essay-based subject such as literature would have more homework than a student who had made choices for more practical subjects such as textiles or graphic design.
Not everyone will agree on that. In my opinion, some homework can be given in first and second grades, but not necessarily every night and not a whole lot in one night. By third grade, students are old enough to be given homework, but it should not be so much that they feel pressured to get it done. By fourth grade, students could be given more homework, and by middle school, students should be mature enough to handle the homework they are given.
The amount of time it takes to do homework depends on how much homework you have and how difficult your classes are. Some students might get their homework done in an hour and others may take longer.
The amount of time it takes to complete homework can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the difficulty of the assignment, the student's skill level, and the student's learning style. In general, it is recommended that students set aside a dedicated time each day to complete homework, rather than trying to fit it in whenever they have free time.
The National Education Association (NEA) recommends that students in grades K-12 spend a total of about 10-20 minutes per day on homework, depending on their grade level. This means that students in elementary school (K-5) should spend about 10-20 minutes per day on homework, while students in middle and high school (6-12) should spend about 20-40 minutes per day on homework.
It is important to note that these are general guidelines, and the actual amount of time a student should spend on homework will depend on their individual needs and circumstances. It is always a good idea for students to work with their teachers and parents to determine the appropriate amount of time to spend on homework.
well for an average middle schooler about 2-5 hours a night
Most of them do because they want to pass their classes.
There are no studies on this, but most kids do their work so they can pass the class
they should give you a piece of homework every time its time for homework

If Lauren spend 2/3 of her 24-hour computer time doing homework, this means she spent 16 hours doing homework. Each third of the 24 hours is 8 hours, so two thirds would be 16 hours.
No. Children spend most hours of their day at school, and afterwards have many hours of homework. If school days were to be longer, homework should be banished allowing children to be able to socialise
1 hr mabe 45min
Hours and minutes would be a sensible measure of the amount of time you spend on homework each day.
The most they should spend on their homework is one and half hours unless they are doing a project. If your child is taking longer than that then he/she probably doesn't understand their homework and needs your help or their teacher's help
I usually spend 3-4 hours a night on homework. Sometimes when my teachers aren't feeling very nice, we get 10 hours. My mom has found me up at 4 A.M. before, doing homework. Hope this helps, CrazyGenie
Parents should spend however much time is necessary for their particular child to grasp the material.
Opportunity cost of doing homework increases as you spend more time doing it because of the time you are allocating for it. You can be accomplishing something else.
This website is not a substitute for you doing your homework assignments.
students would have less time for a social life. they expect children to be active but how can they if they wake up at the crack of dawn and wont get home until after 5 when its dark. Not many little children are on the streets after dark so they would have to make due inside!!!! Also there would be less time to spend as a family on weekends. Plus some say that there would be less homework but that isn't true because homework is homework not in-class work. they wouldn't spend the extra time doing that!!!!

They attend school from 8 until 2. They spend hours on homework. They play sports and spend time with friends. During vacation, they might go away to Italy or to the beach. German children spend much less time in front of computers or tv than Americans.
