How long does it take for the burning sensation during urination to stop if you've been diagnosed with gonorrhea and have been taking antibiotics for 5 days now and burning sensation is still severe?
Answer
Obviously a doctor has given you a prescription for the antibiotics and there is where you should go to get the correct answer.
Don't be embarressed about asking, this is your health. Doctors have seen and heard it all, and they are there to help you.
Answer
You say that the burning is "severe" Hopefully it is not as severe as it was before treatment. If it is as bad or worse, absolutely ask your doctor. Normally the burning sensation goes away after 3 to 7 days, and lessens in pain as the days go on if you're taking antibiotics.
Make sure you're taking ALL of your antibiotics EXACTLY as prescribed, otherwise you're not killing the bacteria and it potentially can get much worse.
The poster above is exactly right - never be afraid to ask your doctor anything. I know it can be embarrassing, but they should not judge you. It's their job to help you.
