Well, I had a tonsillectomy on Jan. 28 and today is Feb. 10 and I am still tyring to heal, but for the most part the bad type of pain in my throat and ear is gone, however, i still have a little difficulty swallowing and eating certain things. My tongue feels very funny when I use it to eat-like floss is holding my tongue down in the back and it shocks me when I use it too much. My taste buds are kind of screwed up and most things I used to eat don't taste very good anymore. So, it's been two weeks and I still am not completely healed. By the way I am 31 years old. It seems the younger you are the faster you heal-one week if you are about 9 years old! Why didn't I do this long ago??

around 2 weeks

You should be able to return to work/school after two weeks, but to genuinely and completely heal it takes closer to a month. The majority of the pain ebbs away after about a week and a half, but you'll still experience occasional pain when yawning hard, or swallowing really hard (like if you bite off a big piece of food). To speed up the healing process, during the first week you should NOT talk. It works muscles that are trying to heal.

I am on my 8th day and the pain had not been too severe. Tolerable with the vicodin every 4 hours and Tylenol every 6 hours. Sometimes it gets really bad at night maybe because I am not drinking ice cold water like I do during the day.

Normally, 14 days.

about 30 to 45 minutes. then they keep you at the hospital for about 2hrs in the recovery room just to be sure there are no complications or reactions, then you go home.
The operations itself takes just a few minutes (maybe about 30 or so). You will probably be observed in the hospital over night and takee a few days before your throat feels well again.

Do steamed orange cure tonsillitis?

yes they do actually because if you have tonsillitis you will need hot food and drink so steamed oranges would work but not cure the tonsillitis so it would go away. the steamed oranges only make your tonsillitis better. i am actually on the waiting list in my hospital in england to get my tonsils removed in a couple of months to be honest i am nervous as it is going to take a 1hole hour and 2 weeks to recover but if tonsillitis if really bothering you i would go to the doctors and ask to see a throat speciallist and then you talk to him about how bad your tonsils are affecting you. removing your tonsils does not cost anything provideing your in the uk and not in a private hospital. overall you should get the tonsils removed it may take a long time to wait but it will be worth it as there will be no pain. my mum got her tonsils removed and she feels much more better.thanks for reading i hoped this helped your question
