Forever,
You can only remove methanol from your system by drinking ethanol as it competes with the methanol. Methanol has a far higher affinity for you than water, and so water won't remove it. It is the ethanol that removes it.
However, if you have drunk any methanol by accident, you should phone an ambulance, try to vomit and drink any spirits, vodka, whiskey etc to get ethanol to compete with it.
Note: Methylated spirits contains a high ethanol content to compete with the methanol, so very little would stay in your system from a very small exposure. In case anyone is thinking of trying methylated spirits, methanol can make you go blind and kill you, so you are better off going to your local pub/bar if you want to get drunk.
The previous answer is completely incorrect. First of all, you should never, NEVER, induce vomiting after drinking methanol. Methanol can cause a person to breathe in (aspirate) their vomit, and cause choking or drowning. VERY dangerous.
Also, I think the previous answerer misunderstood your question. I think you are talking about methamphetamine, or crystal meth. Methamphetamine is water soluble, and should be eliminated from the body within three days, much like cocaine. Drinking more water will speed up the process, but remember that drinking too much water too quickly can stop your heart, so don't sit there and drink gallons of water all at once.
I'm a pharmacist, and a chemist, so I know the answers to this question are accurate.
It will take approximately 30 minutes for Aleve to dissolve in your stomach. It will dissolve slightly faster if you drink water with it.
Panadol (or paracetamol) wont dissolve in cold water.
Yes. Dishwasher Tablets do dissolve in water, but they take a bit of time.
There are very few solids which, given enough time, do not dissolve in water, including rocks. For this reason, water is often called "the universal solvent," although there are some things which will not dissolve in water. But there are many factors that affect solubility (the ability of a substance to dissolve) in water. For example, common table salt (a rock) dissolves easily in water -- until the water is saturated, at a given temperature and pressure. Afterwards, no more salt will dissolve. Plastic, if considered to be a solid, may be insoluble. Fats and oils will not dissolve in water.
This depends on the temperature, stirring, ratio milk/water, time of adding water to powder, volume of the water aliquotes, etc.
it dosen't
