Drugs in the hair and nails do not "clear" from the sample. It stays there as long as the hair or nail exists. Once the hair grows out and is cut off, then the drug containing portion is gone.

∙ 11y agoi was court ordered a hair folicle test once in a custody battle so i know this answer all too well.my hair was very long-not that that mattered but needless to say my results read back up to 90 days. i could of passed a urine or blood test because obviously i assumed my defendent may try to pursuade the judge so i cleansed myself in a timely manner had it gone in my favor of testing style but it did not. anyways it had been over 3 months since i had smoked cocaine but it did in fact show up positive however my level was faint. ha ha when my defendent showed up for his test-he was shaved as bald as mr.clean and they could not get a sample. go figure. i lost my daughter due to the results of that test.
