For most people it is about a week to ten days of symptoms, although you would probably have had it for a day or two before you felt any symptoms.

The cough can last a bit longer. If the cough isn't gone in two weeks, or if it changes, consult your health care professional to be sure that you don't have a secondary infection or complications.

According to the CDC, you are considered no longer contagious once you go a full 24 hours without a fever (when taking no fever reducers) if you have a fully functioning immune system. If your immune system is compromised or if you have other underlying medical conditions, then the severity can vary a lot, and some people are sick for much longer.

Recovering from the flu usually takes about a week. If flu complications develop it can last even longer. Young children and elderly adults are at a higher risk of developing complications. In elderly adults the flu can be potentially fatal.

It depends on the cause of the fever. Drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and call your doctor if the fever lasts more than a week.
