It only takes a couple of seconds. When syncing the controller have both your Xbox and controller on. Hold the button on your Xbox (the one to the right of where memory units plug in on the front) and wait until the rings on the console flash, then press the tiny button on the front of your controller between the two bumpers and wait until it syncs with your Xbox.
It only takes a couple minutes to program a wireless controller. Simply add the batteries to the controller, turn on console and controller, press the small button on console front and and small button on controller located close to the LB button on the controller and that should be it, you've programmed your controller.
Paper mario does not take a "remote" it uses a controller from the Gamecube console by Nintendo, because it is a Gamecube/Nintendo 64 game. If you are playing it on a Nintendo 64 console, then it takes a Nintendo 64 controller.
No, the PlayStation 3 wireless controller will not still work if the battery does not take a charge. The controller will not have enough power to connect to the console.
On the PS3 you use the controller setting on the console
[SORRY IF THIS IS LONG, BUT HOPEFULLY IT'S WORTH IT]-If by sync, you mean be used on a different console, then the answer is yes. I have experience in doing this. Just make sure that the xBox 360 console that it is 'synced' with isn't plugged in, otherwise it will react to that console and turn it on. I think if you're planning to keep them both around the controller to use, you should just: unplug the console you don't want it to sync with press that little button on the console found right next to the second memory unit port (only on the other console) press the little button on the controller you want to 'sync' with said console turn on controller AFTER said console is turned on replug the other console and presto! NOTE: IT MAY TAKE A FEW SECONDS FOR THE CONTROLLER TO SYNC WITH THE OTHER CONSOLE, SO BE PATIENT. If this doesn't work and your controller is still trying to go to the console you don't want it to connect with (which wouldn't make any possible sense considering it's unplugged) then try connecting a controller that is already synced with the console to make it the first player. Turn off the console, connect the newly synced controller, and again, Presto! The new one is player one. Don't do this if you don't want to be first player because, well why would you? Okay that's about it. Hope this helps all of you!
The wireless game cube controller will work up to 30 feet before it will stop working which is actually quite a long ways way.
Get the PS3 controller and connect it to the other PS3 using the USB recharger. Turn the controller on and after about 10 seconds you can take it out, turn on the controller, and use it wirelessly. All of this is done while the PS3 is turned on.
When turning on your controller, it will try and find your Xbox. This will only take 2 seconds around. If you controller takes more time to connect, this could be a controller issue.
