For daily smokers, it can take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, or a month on average, to be clean for a urine test.

For occasional smokers -- people who smoke only a couple of times a week or less -- it's more like 2 weeks to one month.

For a blood test, it takes less time: 2 weeks, but possibly up to 3 weeks, for daily users, and only 2 to 4 days for occasional users.

For saliva tests, it also takes less time. Most sources I've seen say 3 to 5 days, although you might want to wait a week or more, to be safe.

Hair tests are different. Once you use a drug, it's in your hair permanently, until you stop using and grow a completely new head of hair. Since hair grows at a rate of about half an inch a month, it takes about a year or two to grow a completely new head of hair (maybe only 6 months for men with short hair).

Hair tests typically test only the last 1.5 inches of hair (which would mean you'd need to be clean for a minimum of 90 days). But, longer hair samples can be used, if the employer requests it. So, hair tests can potentially detect a drug up to two years after you've used it, if you have long hair.
THC, the primary component of cannabis, remains testable in the blood for up to 48 hours, urine for 7 to 30 days, and hair up to six months.
anywhere from 5 days to 5 years

Marijuana binds to your saliva glands and will stay bonded for 361 days. The only way to clear it out or un-bond the THC early is seamen. Seamen has a salt protein that deactivates the binding compounds, and will allow a clean swab within 2 hours. You need to know that when exposed to air the salt protein will evaporate so make sure you ingest without air exposure.

Not nearly as long as tobacco smoke. The particles in marijuana smoke simply are not nearly adhesive or absorbant to any surfaces or materials as tobacco smoke. Method of ingestion significantly effects the strength of marijuana odor. Joints or blunts leave behind a much stronger odor than water pipes or bongs. Vaporizors leave behind almost no marijuana odor because the marinuana does not combust when consumed this way.
